    Taking plaquenil on misdiagnosis

At first it seemed like it helped now I feel the same as before I started taking the medicine other than the fact that none of my clothes fit and there is a lot more of me to carry around. Anyone know if I quit taking it if the weight will fall back off I started Hydroxychloroquine 2 weeks ago. One week in and I thought this may just work, except for the ‘extra itchiness’ I seemed to get every night.

Rheumatoid Arthritis. The action of hydroxychloroquine is cumulative and may require weeks to months to achieve the maximum therapeutic effect see CLINICAL PHARMACOLOGY. Initial adult dosage 400 mg to 600 mg 310 to 465 mg base daily, administered as a single daily dose or in two divided doses. In a small percentage of patients, side effects may require temporary reduction of the initial. I looked back through my lab work. Even while taking 400mg of Plaquenil and 15mg of Prednisone also an immunosuppressant, my immune system was still overactive. My Absolute Neutrophils good indicator of immune system function didn't get suppressed to a NORMAL range until I increased the Plaquenil to 600mg/day while still taking the Prednisone. Plaquenil is a 6-weeker as far as the benefits are concerned, but it would be more dangerous to stop if you spend a lot of time outside and if this were the summer. If you're gonna experiment, I went off it cold turkey as it didn't hurt to do it that way, but you better get back on before the summer or you could experience a flare-up.

I was prescribed this drug to ease my ra disease, I was taking 400mg per day which was to last for 3 months then reduced to 200mg. Right before I hit the two week mark, I woke up with my heart racing and continued feeling my heart flutter all day and I just felt week and tired. After msging Rheum, decided to stop taking meds to see how I feel and continue with the AIP to handle symptoms and try to work at ‘healing from inside out! Time will tell and I’m eager to see how much the AIP is helping once odd meds.

  7. Scared to start Plaquenil and Quinine - Plaquenil/quinine is an outdated, weak protocol for babesia. i've talked to enough folks who've taken plaqueil to know it does very little to eradicate babesia. look into malarone its cheaper than mepron.
